THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $78,564 - $111,391 per annum pro rata + 11% super + annual leave loading (dependant on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Part Time, 0.5 EFT.            
Location: Glen Waverley campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing position, with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Faculty of Health Science, Community and Social Studies provides a progressive, innovative and supportive teaching environment with strong industry links. The department Community and Social Studies is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to effectively teach theoretical and practical sessions, to students enrolled in the Diploma of Justice.

As part of this role, you'll engage in every aspect of education, from hands-on teaching and personalized assessments to providing valuable vocational insights. Be a part of shaping students' educational journeys by assessing their needs and guiding their training.

ABOUT YOU

  • Current industry skills and qualifications for Justice teachers, this may include: a diploma or higher-level qualification in criminology, justice, policing or law, experience as a police officer, solicitor or as a social worker in a legal setting.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116); or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including the units TAELLN411 & TAEASS502 or equivalent units; or
  • A keen interest in applying contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning methods to maximise student learning outcomes.
  • A student-centred focus and a commitment to educational excellence.
  • The ability to differentiate teaching and learning to facilitate inclusion of students with a range of support needs within a specialist education setting.
