THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $107,031 - $119,874 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Time Fraction: Part Time, 0.4 EFT. (Monday and Tuesdays)
Location: Chadstone campus - onsite parking and close proximity to public transport.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Contract of employment until 31 July 2025. Please note, this is a leave coverage.

The Charles Sturt University Bachelor of Oral Health degree, located at Holmesglen Institute Chadstone, is seeking applicants for a demonstrator & lecturer position, teaching primarily into the Oral Health Practice subjects.

We are seeking an experienced dental practitioner to demonstrate into the simulated dental environment in both therapy and hygiene capacities. This staff member will also be assisting in the delivery of tutorial and lecture content to Year 1 and Year 2 students.  Working closely with subject coordinators, you will implement contemporary teaching methodologies that support integrated learning and student success.

In addition, you will contribute to research activities, develop partnerships with industry and professional bodies, assist with assessment marking, and support Workplace Learning opportunities across Victoria and NSW.

This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of oral health professionals in a supportive and collaborative academic environment.

ABOUT YOU

  • Substantial clinical experience in the oral health industry, with a sound understanding of teaching strategies and curriculum development.
  • Degree in Oral Health, Dentistry, or approved tertiary qualifications, with post-graduate qualifications in Oral Health (Therapy and Hygiene) or a related discipline.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Oral Health Therapist or General Dentist.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging lectures and clinical supervision for undergraduate students, preferably in simulated or clinical environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary oral health care issues and the role of Oral Health Therapists in prevention, health promotion, and population health.
  • High-level interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with academic staff, students, and industry partners.
