THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $114,788 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading.
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.  
Location: Waverley campus - onsite parking and close proximity to public transport. 
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Contract of employment until 31 December 2025.

Join us as the Education Manager of Environment where you will provide educational leadership and support the department in achieving its strategic and operational goals. You will oversee program delivery, compliance, and business development while ensuring the highest standards in vocational education and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead educational planning, operations, and business development to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure compliance with ASQA and funding agreements by overseeing processes, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate innovative, flexible training programs in collaboration with industry.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, supervision, scheduling, and professional development to optimise performance.
  • Assist and lead the management of apprenticeship programs.
  • Build strong industry partnerships to support student and apprenticeship success.
  • Track key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experienced in vocational education leadership, with expertise in compliance, curriculum development, and training package implementation especially in the area of apprenticeship delivery.
  • Skilled in managing, mentoring, and motivating teams to deliver high-quality educational outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of VET sector trends, industry needs, and compliance requirements, including ASQA and funding agreements.
  • Qualifications in Conservation, Horticulture, or Landscaping, with a minimum adult vocational qualification of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122) or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee program coordination, staff selection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effective communicator with proven skills in stakeholder engagement, operational decision-making, and change management.
