THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $114,788 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.  
Location: Across Moorabbin, Glen Waverly and Chadstone campuses.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of appointment with a 6-month qualifying

The Department of Community and Social Studies at Holmesglen provides a progressive, innovative and supportive teaching environment with strong industry links. The department is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide educational leadership and support the department's strategic planning, operational management and business development.

You will effectively manage a range of courses across the department and ensure the development, delivery, resource organisation, assessment and resulting of students in accordance with institute policies, review relevant training packages, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. In addition, you will coordinate, motivate and supervise a team of professional teaching and non-teaching staff in the delivery of educational services.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated previous experience in the community services sector.  
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and motivate a team of professional staff towards the achievement of defined organisational and educational objectives.
  • Sound educational background with high-level interpersonal, organisational, management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth, and current industry knowledge directly relevant to community services, youth work or justice, with a particular emphasis on current technology and industry practice.
  • An approved course of adult teacher training accredited at the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 6 or above
  • Relevant higher-level tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in an area relevant to the programs offered by the department.

The Community & Social Services Department (CSS) provides a range of qualifications, such as Community Services, Justice, Aged Care, Leisure and Health, Disability, Youth Work, and Family Violence. They are designed to enable learners to develop their professional skills, build confidence, and establish a network within the community services industry. By providing both theoretical knowledge and practical experience through field placements and community projects, these courses prepare students for a wide array of professional roles within the community and social services sectors. The department is committed to fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment that equips students for the dynamic challenges of community service roles.
