THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $92,375 - $101,744 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.  
Location: Chadstone, Moorabbin & Glen Waverly campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of appointment with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Student Wellbeing Department is currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to support staff with the day-to-day duties. You will be looking after a team of 12 counsellors across 3 campuses where you will oversee counselling services provided to students. Counselling services such as mental health, psychosocial education and referrals to internal and external services.   

In the role, you will participate in the recruitment process and decision-making process of staffing requirements. Design, develop and implement new policies and innovative ways of adapting current strategies to effectively promote and manage the mental health support of students.

The ideal candidate will be a good role model and confident in their knowledge of the practice of counselling, can stay calm under pressure, is a good communicator and is deeply empathetic.

ABOUT YOU

  • Post-graduate qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, welfare or related mental health discipline and experience.
  • Must be registered as a Clinical Supervisor.
  • Full registration with AHPRA or AASW or ACA or PACFA.
  • Extensive knowledge of counselling practice and extensive experience of supervision provision
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work cooperatively within a team environment and work autonomously without supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver informative, interesting presentations and promotional materials
