THE OPPORTUNITY Salary: $83,214 - $89,326 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience) Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT. Location: Chadstone campus. Join the Holmesglen Employment Centre as a Careers Counsellor, specialising in supporting disengaged youth! In this meaningful role, you will provide tailored one-on-one career counselling to help young people identify and achieve their career goals. Working closely with school-aged early school leavers, you will deliver targeted outreach and guidance, focusing on those at risk of disengagement. You will conduct initial check-ins to understand clients’ aspirations, needs, and preferred support methods, and support young people in building their capacity and capability for smooth transitions into education, training, and employment pathways. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will design and implement career education activities and employability programs, as well as contribute to career expos, job fairs, and workshops that enhance youth employment outcomes. Guided by CAS delivery guidelines, you will deliver youth-focused, qualified career advice that makes a tangible difference in the lives of young people. ABOUT YOU - Proven experience in career counselling, with a focus on supporting disengaged youth.
- In-depth knowledge of career development theory, labour markets, and employment pathways.
- Skilled in tailoring guidance to help clients transition into education, training, or employment.
- Graduate Certificate in Careers Development or a related qualification, with relevant experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging with diverse clients and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong organisational skills to meet the needs of youth at risk of disengagement.
