THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $83,214 - $89,326 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + annual leave loading (depending on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.  
Location: Chadstone, Moorabbin and Waverley campuses.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.

Come join the supportive team at Holmesglen's Student Wellbeing Department as an experienced Counsellor. We're on the lookout for a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students and staff.

In this role, you’ll take the lead in engaging stakeholders for early intervention and assessment, promoting a preventative model of care. Your expertise will be vital in delivering crisis intervention, managing risks, and providing counselling to students from diverse backgrounds and education levels. You’ll also collaborate closely with teaching staff to address student challenges, fostering an environment where every learner can achieve their goals.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold relevant post-graduate qualifications in psychology, counselling, with professional experience and eligibility for registration with a relevant organisation.
  • Demonstrate ethical professional practices, confidentiality, and knowledge of case management and counselling standards in student support services.
  • Possess expertise in personal, career, and educational counselling techniques, with a strong understanding of community welfare and mental health services and referral processes.
  • Have experience working autonomously and collaboratively, setting priorities in dynamic environments, and providing counselling in educational or similar settings.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to connect with diverse student cohorts and stakeholders professionally.
  • Proficient in MS Office, online collaboration platforms, and career guidance tools, with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions and psychoeducational programs to support student needs.
