THE OPPORTUNITY Salary: $146,262 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + leave loading. Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT. Location: Drummond Street campus. WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check. Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check. Position Status: ongoing appointment, with a 6-month qualifying period. An exciting opportunity awaits to lead the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) training programs at Holmesglen's Drummond Street campus! In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the ESI sector to train the next generation of line workers (overhead/underground) and traction control specialists. These skilled professionals will contribute to installing, maintaining, and upgrading Victoria's distribution and traction control networks, supporting the shift to renewable energy generation. The Head of Department will lead program development, create training solutions for ESI projects, ensure ASQA compliance, prepare budgets, and engage with industry through advisory groups and contractor consultations. ABOUT YOU - Extensive experience in educational leadership within a VET context, including managing teaching departments, developing programs, and leading change.
- Comprehensive knowledge of VET sector regulations, compliance requirements, and ASQA standards, with experience maintaining compliance documentation.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong industry partnerships, implement training packages, and market programs effectively.
- Approved degree or trade qualification relevant to the department’s operations and courses, along with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122) or equivalent.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering strategic outcomes.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching strategies and diverse educational delivery models to meet the needs of students and industry.
